This boot has all the features I was looking for in a lighter to mid-weight boot.

Things you will like:

1. Seam Sealed/Waterproof
2. rated to -40 degrees
3. 200 gram thinsulate insulation
4. Not-so-bulky (or wide)profile.
5. Single molded rubber shell
6. triple stitch seams between the leather upper and rubber lower.
7. Leather loops to pull on the boot at the back.
8. They are seven to eight inches high on the ankle/calf. The description says 8.5 inches but the first inch or so is the sole of the shoe measured from the ground to the very top of the boot.

I have a pair of 12 year old Heavy Duty Sorel Caribou boots that are too big to wear regularly for commuting or running errands. (Sorels work great while running the snowthrower or long days outside)

These Kamik Wausau boots are a great complement to them.

I tried on numerous competitors' boots and found this one to be a good set of features for the price. Features + price + perceived quality = value.

Areas to improve:

1. offer a wider range of colors
2. offer a air cushion arch support/in-sole for even greater comfort. (they are nice as is...but why not try?)

Final thoughts on fit:
I wear a 8.5 medium shoe. I could not find a boot that really fit well. I have a size 9 in these boots and the fit is the best I have found in a winter insulated boot. I think this means they run small vs large.

Enjoy!
